Bank of America CEO: "We are capitalists"

March 7, Reuters: Bank of America CEO Bryan Moynihan, not alone in the ESG game of musical chairs, asserts that his firm has capitalist aims while embracing a stakeholder (rather than shareholder-focused) branch of the tree. The firm’s latest annual shareholder report outlined its ESG goals, “including a pledge to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and deploy $1.5 trillion in sustainable finance by 2030.” Moynihan’s stated vision is to enable “[the bank’s] customers to drive capitalism,” which in turn “provides the money, the creativity, and the expertise to solve the needs of society.”
